This paper mainly includes two aspects of research. One is the wave equation numerical simulation, and the other is the post-stack depth migration. They are an important technical means of serving the oil and gas exploration.Wave equation numerical simulation technique is used every aspect of seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation. On the basis of the predecessors, the finite difference numerical simulation technology has been systematically studied. Firstly, this paper uses finite difference method to simulate acoustic wave equation, Elastic wave equation, Viscous acoustic wave equation and viscoelastic wave equation, and analyses the characteristics of the wave field. Secondly, this paper initially studied the wave field simulation of linear source array. In addition, this paper achieves the technique of elastic wave field separation. The regular grid finite difference and staggered grid finite difference numerical simulation is used to acoustic wave equation simulation, the results show that staggered grid finite difference not only has good simulation result but also has high efficiency, and staggered finite difference method is more suitable for high precision numerical simulation. The modeling results of linear source array indicates that energy of seismic waves excited by source array is different in space propagation direction. S-wave and P-wave which separated from the hybrid wave filed could be studied separately. And this technology has a high practice value for Multi-wave multi-component exploration. The seismic migration imaging technology is one of the important processing method of seismic exploration. This paper apply the phase-shift method, split-step fourier method and reverse-time migration to achieve post stack depth migration. The numerical results show that each algorithm has its advantage and limitation, the appropriate migration algorithm should be selected according to the actual situation.
