Along with using the wave spreading characteristics in the hydrocarbon medium and abundant wave field information in multi-wave and multi-component exploration technology. The seismic processing of multi-wave and multi-component is a key part of the success application of this technology. The converted wave static is one of the main factors that affect processing achievement.Static correction is one of the difficulties of the seismic processing. Static correction is caused by thickness of the near-surface weathering layer and changing of the wave spread speed. The converted-wave static correction is made up by the shot point P-wave of static correction and the receiver point S-wave of static correction. As the shot point’s wave is P-wave, the receiver point’s wave is converted-wave. Therefore, converted-wave static correction is the world’s recognized problem, has not yet been stisfactorily resolved.Based on three areas of the multi-wave and multi-component data acquisition in the Sichuan Basin, the purpose of this article is to research converted-wave static correction’s methods and the application effect of multi-wave and multi-component seismic. The first part of article describes the project Basic principles, multi-wave and multi-component exploration and converted-wave static correction research situation. Second part introduce basic method principles and important difficulties of converted-wave static correction, and several basic principles of converted-wave static correction method. The third section analysis longitudinal-wave’s and converted-wave’s static processing on the actual data, contrast its processing method and important difficulties. The fourth section focuses on the converted-wave static correction application restults in three areas in the Sichuan Basin and make assessment prediction for the effect of the application in research area.
