As a new type of electrical energy storage device, electrochemical capacitor hasa lot of advantages such as high power density, long cycle life, stable performanceand maintance-free. It is so useful and meaningful that has attracted great interest inresearch.Electric double layer electrochemical capacitors made of carbon basedmaterials for electrodes have come into application. The practical process ofpseudocapacitors which have much higher specific capacitance is being realized.Inthis paper, we used different methods to prepare polyaniline(PANI) with differentmorphologies. Cyclic voltammetry(CV), galvanostatic charge-discharge, andelectrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) were employed to evaluate electrochemicalperformances of polyaniline as the electrode of electrochemical capacitor.Agalvanostatic current procedure with a three-electrode configuration was used tosynthesize PANI film directly on indium-doped tin-oxide substrates (ITO).The PANIelectrode exhibited high specific capacitance(829F/g)after being tested under thecharge-discharge current density of1A/g.Further more we used stainless steel plateas the substrate for PANI.A bigger current density and longer time method was takento synthesize PANI with3-D net structure. The diameter of PANI fiber was about100nm and the thickness of3-D net structure was about65um.The PANI film had a330F/g specific capacitance and0.33F/cm2areal capacitance.Two fiber PANIelectrodes were used to assemble symmetry capacitor(6cm2for eachelectrode).After1000cycles charge-discharge test employed under the current of30mA, the capacitor had a89%capacitance retention. The capacitor with acapacitance of0.85F showed a good electrochemical performance and had practicalapplicability in a sence.
