Aliphatic polyesters, one of the biodegradable polymers, was widely used in drug delivery systems, artificial tissues and commodity materials because of their biodegradability, biocompatibility and penetrability. As one of the key points, the synthesis and design new high-peformence catalysts was one of the most important subjects. So new catalysts were synthesized and used in the copolymerizarion of Aliphatic polyesters. In this paper, two series of asymmetric salen complexes were obtained, they were characterized by element analysis (EA), nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum (NMR), infrared spectrum (FT-IR); morever, this two series of asymmetric salen complexes were used as catalysts in the ring-opening copolymerizarion of CHO and MA, the molecular weight size (Mn or Mw) and the molecular weight distribution (PDI=Mw/Mn) of the obtained polymers were determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC).Then, the properties and structures of the polymers were characterized by the FT-IR and1H NMR. We also studied the effect of different catalysts on the copolymerizarion, in addition, the effects of the co-catalyst, polymerization time, polymerization temperatureand the molar ratio of monomer were also investigated.Firstly, the asymmetric salen ligand (HL2) were synthesized, the series asymmetric salen complexes HL2were obtained by the coordination of Co3+and Mn3+ion with ligands HL2, and the effect of different iron in the ring-opening copolymerizarion of CHO and MA was investigated.Secondly, we synthesized the asymmetric salen ligand (HL3) and obtained the series asymmetric salen complexes HL3by the coordination of Co3+with ligands HL3, and the effect of electron donating, electron-withdrawing and steric hindrancein the ring-opening copolymerizarion of CHO and MA was investigated. Finally, the procedures of controllable conditions were also disscussed by the rign-opening copolymerization of CHO and MA through the choice of catalysts, co-catalysts, reaction temperature, reaction time and molor ratio between monomers.
