The water quality, sediment pollution, contents of total phosphorus and phosphorus fractions in sediments in Beiyun River(Beijing section) and the influence of different environmental conditions like pH, temperature and perturbance on organic phosphorus’mineralization and its fractions were studied in the lab.The fractions of organic phosphorus were identified by31P-NMR(Nuclear Magnetic Resonance). The conclusions were as follows. The pollution of water and sediments in Beiyun River(Beijing section)was serious, which suggests a big rwask of eutrophication. Sediment organic matter content and particle composition, especially the content of dwassolved reactive phosphorus have a great influence on the contents of different forms of phosphorus in sediment pore water; the correlation between different forms of phosphorus in overlying water was excellent, and so was the different forms of phosphorus in interstitial water of sediments. The contents of TP in sediments were518.5-2116.2mg/kg, and the contents of organic phosphorus were68.6-235.3mg/kg. The proportions of the organic phosphorus in TP of sediments were9.06%-23.09%, with an average ratio of12.75%, which was lower than the sediments of lakes. It may be due to that the pollution source of Beiyun River was mainly from industrial wastewater, and sewage town, with less organic phosphorus. The study in the lab shows that:alkalescence can weaken the speed of the mineralization of organic phosphorus, while low-acid can increase the speed, but alkalinity or acidity will reduce the amount of the mineralization of organic phosphorus. The mineralization of organic phosphorus was didminated by microorganwasm in neutral condition with the largest amount of mineralization. When the temperature was higher, the activity of microorganwasm become greater, which means more organic phosphorus will be decomposed. Under normal conditions LOP(labile organic phosphorus) was more likely to be mineralized, but the higher the temperature was, the more likely MLOP(moderately labile organic phosphorus) will be mineralized by microorganwasm.perturbance has bidirectional effects on organic phosphorus mineralization in sediments: violent perturbance can increase the speed of the mineralization, while slight perturbance can weaken the mineralization. But violent perturbance did not have much effect on the final amount of mineralization. The change of the content of MLOP was more obvious without perturbance, while NOP(nonlabile organic phosphorus) was more likely to be mineralized with the increase of the speed of perturbance.Phosphomonoester, phospholipids, DNA, and pyrophosphate but phytic acid in sediments can be effectively detected by31P-NMR, while the phytic acid standard sample can be detected. Organophosphate compounds were the major component of organic phosphorus in sediments, and its content was generally greater than phosphodiesters in all sampling sites. The main components of MLOP in sediments were phosphomonoester, phospholipids and DNA, and they all have shown a good correlation with MLOP.
