Electrochromism is widely and deeply researched by researchers due to its uniquephenomenon and the utility in the modern fields of life, national defense and military.Triphenylamine (TPA) derivatives are popular electrochromic materials ascribe to theirmerits such as the high activity of the center N, the conjugated structure in the system, higher holes mobility and the reversible redox properties.Epoxy resins are defined as the oligomer which contains two or more epoxy groups, and turns to the thermoset material with the reaction of curing agents. The curingsystem owns outstanding adhesive property due to the polar groups such as hydroxy, ether linkages and ester bonds. In this paper, a new triphenylamine monomer4-phenoxy-4’,4’’-diaminotriphenylamine was synthesized and characterized with FT-IR and NMRspectra. Used the synthesized monomer and another prepared4-methoxy-4’,4’’-diaminotriphenylamine as the curing agents to cure epoxy resins221and E51respectively. The cured epoxy resins films on the ITO glass exhibit good electrochromicproperty with low oxidation potential and high color efficiency up to249.5cm2/C andswitching time1.0s due to their triphenylamine moieties as well as the good adhesionto the substrate due to the epoxy resins parts.
