As the power supply system for a variety of electronic systems, the performance andreliability of the switch mode power supply plays a direct impact on the security of the electronicsystems. In recent years, elecronic equipment failures which are caused by power failures lead toa number of catastrophic accidents at home and abroad. Therefore, the PHM (Prognostics andHealth Management) of the switch mode power supply system has become an important issue tobe solved, and the RUL (Remaining Useful Life) pediction technology is a forward-researchtopic of PHM technology.DC-DC converter is a core component of the switch mode power supply. In DC-DCconverter, the deterioration of aluminum electrolytic capacitor in the filter network is a key factoraffecting its life. Therefore, the life of the capacitor is used to characterize the life of DC-DCconverter in this paper. Based on the analysis of the main deterioration modes of the capacitorand the effect of the capacitor deterioration on the DC-DC converter output signals, the RULprediction experiment system is preliminarily constructed for a particular DC-DC converter. Themain work is as followed:1. Based on the analysis of the effect of capacitor deterioration on DC-DC converteroutput signal, the ripple voltage is identified as the feature signal of the system. The experimentsystem is constructed with the appropriate platforms, and this provides a research idea forDC-DC converter RUL prediction technique.2. By theoretical analysis and simulation experiment, it finds that the effect of ESR(Equivalent Series Resistance) on ripple volatge is far greater than the capacitance. So, it onlyconsiders the capacitor ESR when establishs the RUL prediction model.3. During the system testing process, in order to verify the ESR greater impact on DC-DCconverter from the angle of physics experiment, this paper uses a deterioration injection method.
