As a new technology of proton exchange membrane fuel cell, high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell is developed in recent decade, it has mang advantanges, such as fast reaction kinetics、simple water and heat management、easy waste heat recovery and high tolerance to CO poisoning. The study of high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell divided into two directions:first direction is the material of the high temperature proton exchange membrane, focus on reform traditionalHigh temperature proton exchange membrane and synthetize new type of high temperature proton exchange membrane. second direction is the effect of operating conditions on the performance of the high temperature proton exchange membrane, include temperature、pressure and stoichiometric ratio. Acid doped OPBI membrane maintain well mechanical properties、 chemical properties and electrochemical properties, so it can meet the need of high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell. Under such backgrounds, acid doped OPBI membrane and its fuel cell are studied by experiment.The first part of the research is membrane material.OPBI membrane is doped with different acid.The size、water content、acid doping level、surface morphology、thermostability and tensile property of the OPBI membrane is studied by experiment. The experiment results show that the water content of OPBI membrane doped with phosphoric acid is more better. The acid doping level of OPBI membrane doped with polyphosphoric acid(PPA) is more better. The result of surface morphology show acid on membrane surface of the OPBI membrane doped with polyphosphoric acid is uniform distribution.Acid doped OPBI membrane show well thermostability below450℃.OPBI membrane doped with polyphosphoric acid show continuous acid loss above100℃.OPBI membrane doped with phosphoric acid show continuous acid loss above200℃. The result of tensile property show OPBI membrane doped with polyphosphoric acid is more better. But the result of conductivity show OPBI membrane doped with phosphoric acid is more better.The second part of the research is operating conditions. The result of single cell test experiment show the temperature has a significant effect on high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell. The performance of fuel cell is proportional to temperature. Operating pressure can effectively reduce the mass transfer resistance of the fuel cell, increase the power and current density of the fuel cell. Stoichiometric ratio has no effect on the performance of high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell.
