The building envelope insulation technology has made outstanding contributions to the field of building energy saving, but the use of new materials has brought the hidden danger of fire to a certain building. A series of fire accidents in response to building exterior insulation system to secure application architecture brings considerable risks. Therefore, the study of fire hazard in the construction of external wall insulation system, characteristics and regularity of revealed typical insulation materials fire spreading is of great significance to make.In this paper, a complete sequence experiment is conducted from the raw material, the thermal insulation system of material by selecting typical EPS common type of polystyrene and flame-retardant polystyrene two markets on the insulation materials and products as the research object, and the EPS external wall insulation system is analyzed system research by experimental measurement and theoretical analysis.The study on pyrolysis kinetics of EPS raw material particles findings:common type and flame retardant two polystyrene particle pyrolysis temperature range were at350~450℃.however, ordinary polystyrene in the pyrolysis stage duration and temperature range were higher than20℃flame retardant polystyrene. In the thermal pyrolysis of two raw materials showed similar combustion performance, although the flame retardant polystyrene can release in peak temperature is relatively low, the pyrolysis of relatively short duration, it is not worth mentioning the macroscopic temperature change compared to the fire.The study of EPS insulation board vertical wall spread characteristic findings:common type and flame-retardant polystyrene insulation board in the point source function, vertical wall spread rate follows the T7spread rules, namely, at any time the flame front position changes according to the law y=a1t7+a2t6+...+a7t+b. However, the vertical wall spread speed is in accordance with the law Vp=α/t+β. Thickness is an important factor affecting polystyrene vertical wall spread speed the affection of thickness on the vertical wall spread exists a critical value of H, when it reaches to H, vertical wall spread rate will increase with increasing thickness.but when exceeds H, the vertical spread rate shows a steady trend. In the research on combustion characteristics of EPS insulation system overall, in the SBI experiment data of two types of substrates were rather, and common type and flame retardant EPS insulation board itself combustion belongs to B level. It indicates that general method of adding flame retardant insulation board on EPS combustion performance has no obvious role to improve level. But conventional EPS class D insulation system of combustion, flame retardant EPS insulation system fire class C. The adhesive layer using the thermal insulation system of clay is the key factor leading to the spread of fire. |
