According to the the neutron sensitivity compensation principle, the plastic scintillation detector containing6Li is a new plastic scintillation detector developed to improve the plastic scintillation detector for low-energy neutron detection sensitivity. The nuclear reaction section increases rapidly with decline of neutron energy. It is shown that this new plastic scintillation detector can increase low energy neutron detection sensitivity.In this paper, based on Fudan University’s new plastic scintillation detector containing6Li, by using the Monte Carlo to get Geant4scintillator neutron energy response. The most part of performance parameters of detector are studied in some experiments, the7Li plastic scintillator neutron, gamma-ray energy response, time response of the scintillator, light transmittance were measured. Made a comprehensive analysis and processing of the experimental data, and speculated that the characteristic parameters of Li plastic scintillator.Neutron sensitivity of several plastic scintillation detectors Containing7Li new developed are measured at K-400accelerator in this paper. Obtained the7Li plastic scintillator’s neutron sensitivity curve with varies scintillator thickness. By using the0.662MeV and1.25MeV energy gamma ray emitted by the60Co,137Cs, carried out the gamma ray sensitivity of the plastic scintillator, obtained the gamma sensitivity changes by a different thickness of the scintillator.Time responses of scintillators containing7Li are measured at three-channel pulse generator with ps pulse width. Light transmission rate of the plastic scintillation detectors Containing7Li are researched on infrared spectrophotometer with light wave from400nm to1100nm. By using the SpectraPro2750spectrometer, measured the emission spectrum of the scintillator, got the light emission spectrum of the samples. Used Thermal ionization mass spectrometer in the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics Institute of Nuclear Physics and Chemistry, Confirmed the effectiveness of the incorporation of Li.
