| The main pump units in nuclear submarine reactors are composed of pumps and motors.The main pump uses a high temperature and pressured shielded pump with verticalstructure.The specially operational environment of the main pump units brings therequirements for water as the lubrication of unit bearing and it must have the characteristics ofthe self lubrication, oxidation resistance, and anticorrosive,etc.further requirements are needed,e.g.,high-temperature resistance,anticorrosive, etc. But there is a problem of using water as thelubrication, which will not only increases the difficulty of establishment of the fluid dynamicpressure lubrication but also influences the service life of the bearing.Hence, how to develop thethrust bearings which can apply to the special working conditions of the main pumps, formstable lubrication water film,and have good tribological properties is the key technology of themain pump unit. Thus it can be seen that study on the tribological performance of thewater-lubrication graphite thrust bearings will not only bring high academic value but also hasvital practical significance.The paper is subsidized by the Graduate students ’ innovativescientific research fund project of jms university and the Heilongjiang Province educationdepartment science and technology research funds project.This paper mainly researches on thetribological properties of water-lubricated graphite thrust bearings,and verifies the theoreticalanalysis results through friction-wear test.The paper’s main work includes the following aspects:1. Screening test for several graphite material on the special bearing test bench, determinethat the bearing material is furan graphite which applied to the operating conditions of the mainpump unit, and the thrust plate material is stainless steel welding nickel-based hard alloy;2. Design the structure of water-lubricated graphite thrust bearings which apply to theoperating conditions of the main pump unit. Analyse and calculate the performances of thethrust bearings under the low speed and the high speed operating mode. Analyse the formingconditions of water film,and verify the analysis result by the ANSYS finite element software;3.Reveals the tribology mechanism of water-lubricated graphite thrust bearing, analyse andresearch on the main factors which influence the tribological properties of water-lubricatedgraphite thrust bearing, and propose the methods to enhance the friction and wear properties ofthe bearing;4.simulate the actual operating conditions of the main pump unit through the specialbearing test bench, experimental study on the the friction and wear properties of water-lubricated thrust bearings,and verify the theoretical analysis results of the tribologicalproperties of water-lubricated graphite thrust bearings through the test. |
