The ingress of chloride into concrete structures in marine environment can initiatesteel corrosion、the spalling of concrete cover、durability deterioration and the reductionof service lifetime. The design of marine concrete structures durability to determine theservice lifetime is a very important subject. Based on chloride ion diffusion transportmechanism, the paper conducts an systematical study of predicting the service lifetime ofmarine concrete structures from external environment and internal materials by using asemi-empirical and semi-theoretical model and the approximate probability designmethod considering reliability theory. The main work of this paper are as follows:(1)Discussing damage mechanism and influence factors of durability of Marineconcrete structures, summing up the predictive method of durability service life formarine concrete structures and presenting the study and the work of this paper.(2)By summarizing all kinds of transport mechanism, chloride diffusionmechanism is used to research the transporting matters of chloride in concrete. Accordingto the diffusion mechanism of chloride penetration into concrete,the paper analyzes thechloride diffusion model and its influence factors,discusses the various factors thataffecting the chloride diffusion coefficient, provides test methods of chloride diffusioncoefficient and determines the value of chloride diffusion coefficient.(3)The durability design approach based on reliability theory is used to designmarine concrete structures as well as parameter values affecting the service life of marineconcrete structures are studied. The research of ternary relation of the design of marineconcrete structures durability and the prediction of the service lifetime is studied from theenvironment、types of concrete materials and concrete water-cement ratio. In addition, theinfluence of two-dimensional chloride diffusion at the places of edges on the predictionof the service life of marine concrete structures is also discussed.
