In recent years, with the development of reform and opening up, as well as the deepening of the process of urbanization, the tourist holiday resort has become an indispensable way of leisure. However, because of imperfect facilities, very unreasonable land use structure, relatively poor old environmental conditions and the loss of location advantages, some tourist holiday resorts are losing their vitality slowly, and facing an urgent renewing and transformation. Due to the high-intensive way of living and high-speed economic, Metropolitan areas are in the trend of deterioration of ecological environment, people-oriented living environment requires more public green space, so there are more and more tourist areas which have high degree openness that need to establish a unified ecological planning, however, our governments don’t pay much attention to the tourist holiday resort. As a manifestation of the park, as well as a part of the ecological environment, the planning and design of the tourist holiday resort is particularly important.This article is based on engineering practice project, combined with the domestic and international tourism planning and design researches, practical results and the status quo analysis, explore and solve a series of challenges in the planning and design, and strive to find a simple, intuitive way to analyze how to correctly handle the relationship between people, man and nature. It sums up the correct direction and reasonable means of tourism planning and design, provides theoretical support for the future planning and design. To explore an orderly, distinctive and reasonable road of development, people-oriented and the principle of the harmonious development of man and nature are throughout the entire planning and design.
