With the development of economy, the electric power industry as a support foundation and lifeblood of the national economy is becoming more and more important. The grid scale of network continues to expand, so how to build a safe, stable and robust network frame is the task of top priority in the expansion plan of power grid. Our country is a vast area and the climate is complicated, these factors are a great influence on grid components and electric power line and are likely to cause power grid failures and even large area blackout. Power system is a typical complex system. Nowadays complex network research method is a hot spot in the research of complex systems and a lot of grid researches based on complex network theory have been done at home or abroad. However, all these researches have their own limitations and insufficiency and focus on different faces. Therefore, this paper puts forward new models and algorithms based on the extended structure vulnerability of the original power grid. It mainly includes the following contents(1) On the basis of the full study on the theory of complex networks, a cascading failure model based on the regional impact under harsh climatic was proposed. First, use the complex network theory to model the power grid, analyze the topological characteristics, and improv methods of computation in the topological properties of a node betweenness. Then use the Gaussian distribution and Poisson distribution to simulate the grid component failure rates of lightning and icing in bad weather, thus making the bad weather factor into the mechanism of the power grid cascading failures model. Finally based on the traditional attacks to nodes, study the mechanism of cascading failures of power grid in harsh climatic by adding the area attacks, and compared with the normal climate.(2) A SWN-PGEPIM model which applies to the extension of grid network planning is put forward. It improves the network extension methods and evaluation standards on the basis of grid network expansion planning model:considering the initial grid network model is the small world network, the model use the improved field expansion and the small-world expansion; analyze the impact on the structure and operation of the power grid after the network expansion using the clustering coefficient, characteristic path length, the average degree of power outages and blackouts range of distribution as evaluation so that better reflect the influence of the expansion of the power grid on fault propagation range and speed, thus providing a more meaningful reference for network planning.(3) Based on two models above and with IEEE-118bus system as an object, design and achieve the simulation algorithms, analyze the effect of model and algorithm in detail, and verify the correctness of the models above.
