With the various of new weapons becoming more and more maneuvering, the single aircraft radar has not been able to meet the requirement of target tracking, and the aircraft Pulse Doppler radar system also limits the analysis quality of radar intelligence. The development of joint tracking of airborne radar and ESM solves the problem of single sensor and Doppler blind zone(BDZ).This paper researches the maneuvering target tracking algorithm and engineering application based on airborne radar and ESM sensor on platform of aircraft. First, the frequently-used coordinates and coordinate conversion in aircraft system, the principle and mathematical model of maneuvering target tracking are presented. Then the second order debiased converted measurement Kalman Filter algorithm and the principle of conversion measurement based on the best linear unbiased estimate(BLUE) are described in detail. According to the analysis and comparisons of the four kinds of maneuvering target tracking algorithms IMM-BLUE, IMM-SDCMKF, IMM-DCMKF and IMM-EKF by Monte-Carlo simulations, the result indicates that the tracking accuracy and real-time of IMM-BLUE algorithm are better than others. Next the algorithm of information fusion from airborne radar and ESM is specified in detail, the tracking accuracy of the fusion algorithm is better than radar tracking individually after analyzing their performances by comparing the simulation results. Based on this conclusion, the joint tracking based on airborne radar and ESM in BDZ is further studied. The values of measurement of data fitting and ESM tracking individually in BDZ are proposed, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods by simulation and comparison.Finally, based on modular construction of FPGA in Quartus II, I have completed the FPGA design of IMM-DCMKF algorithm and timing simulation. And the design and experimentation of fusion of information tracking from airborne radar and ESM system is finished based on IMM-BLUE algorithm on DSP+FPGA hardware, the experiment results proved the correctness and high real-time of the design of fusion of information tracking system, which provides an approach for engineering application of maneuvering target tracking algorithm based on airborne radar and ESM.
