Because of the rapid development of IR/MMW compound guidance weapon, the armored targets that have obvious features are under a great threat, and decoy with only one single mode cannot interfere effectively. In this paper, the interfering IR/MMW compound decoy features were studied. And on the basis, the high temperature carbon fiber fabric was used as base material, and a technology route for airbag type profiling decoy target which was coated with metal lamella and high-powered decoy agent, was put forward to achieve IR/MMW compound decoy function.The simplified airbag-decoy inflation process was simulated by the control volume method with the finite element analysis software LS-DYNA. The airbag shape, pressure and temperature changes during the inflation process were obtained. The factors of infrared radiation propagation in atmosphere and the heat radiation characteristics of the airbag were analyzed. Then a math model to calculate the atmospheric Infrared Radiation transmittance was presented, and the spectral radiant exitance of the airbag at different temperatures and the radiant intensity contrast curves after the atmospheric attenuation at3to5μm and8to14μm bands were gained.Based on target millimeter wave detection principle, the normalized antenna temperature contrast calculation model at the process that the radiometer scans ground targets was set up, and the normalized antenna temperature contrasts of the targets under different conditions were analyzed. Through experiments, the millimeter wave radiation signals of the decoy material and a certain type of armored target were obtained, and with signal processing, the features of the signals were extracted. The signal features obtained by experiment and calculation were compared and analyzed. The results show that the profiling decoy target and the armored target have the similar operational effectiveness, and the millimeter wave radiation features research of decoy material and armored target could provide certain theoretical basis to the design of profiling decoy target.
