Logistic Regression YCHT Wuling Combined Effect Of The Treatment Of Eczema And Analysis Of Influencing Factors

BACKGROUND Eczema is a recurrent skin diseases. Its distribution is usually symmetrical and the lesions are diversity. Eczema can be classified into three stages which include acute stage, subacute stage and chronic stage. In the acute stage, erythema, papules, mound herpes and oozy are clinical features; but in the chronic stage, dryness, scales and lichenification are clinical symptoms. The etiology and pathogenesis of eczema are not clear, so western medicine treatment effect is not satisfied. After stopping the agents, the recurrence rate is high. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a stable effect in long-term outcomes. But the premise is distinguish the pattern of syndrome exactly. Oriental Wormwood Decoction and Five-herb Powder are typical decoctions of clearing heat and eliminating wetness, and eczema is always relevant with heat and wetness. So Oriental Wormwood Decoction and Five-herb Powder can be used in treating eczema.OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to judge the efficacy of Oriental Wormwood Decoction and Five-herb Powder in the treatment of eczama and to explore the key factors affecting the curative effect.METHOD83patients with eczema in this study came from the patients who treated in Dermatology clinic of Guang’anmen Hospital China Academy of Chinese Medicine from August2012to January2013. After collecting the patients’personal information, disease conditions, symptoms and four examinations, we gave them Oriental Wormwood Decoction and Five-herb Powder to take twice a day and continued for4weeks. We observe their improvement of lesions and scores via EASI and the level of itching every week when they came to the doctor’s According to the scores taken before and after the treatment to determine the efficacy. Data of the clinical cured and the ineffective were analyzed with Logistic model.RESULTS78cases finished the subject.18cases were cured,15cases were markedly effective,13cases were effective and32were ineffective, the total effective rate was59%. Erythema, edema and itching of the46effective cases got relieved.18cured patients average score before treatment was5.6(5.3) while after treating was0.030(0.10). Logistic regression analysis model indicates that patients who have the feeling of body soreness and heaviness.digestive system symptoms (including the stomach swelling, no appetite, viscous excrement, sour stomach and hiccup) or the tongue fur or pulse indicating heat and wetness are associated with the effect of Oriental Wormwood Decoction and Five-herb Powder.CONCLUSION1. The efficiency of oriental wormwood decociton and Five-herb Powder with poria for eczema is good. Treating78cases without distinguishing the pattern of syndrome,we can still get the effective rate to59%. This dicoction has a significant efficacy on relieving erythema, edema and itching.2.
