Diospyros kaki Thunb.was proved to have many bioactivities. The chemical constituents of Diospyros kaki Thunb. calyx were studied in this thesis. The constituents of 70% methanol extracts of Diospyros kaki Thunb. calyx were separated by silica gel column chromatography. Structures were elucidated on the basis of physico-chemical evidences and spectroscopic data analysis (MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMQC, HMBC). Four compounds were isolated from the calyx of Diospyros kaki Thunb. and identified as Betulinic acid (1), Barbinervic acid (2), 24-Hydroxyoleanolic acid (3) and 19a, 24-Dihydroxyl ursolic acid (4). Compounds 1,2,3 and 4 were isolated from Diospyros kaki Thunb. calyx for the first time and they appeared some extent of anti-inflammatory activity.Chlorin derivatives were widely used in photodynamictherapy. The structure modification of methyl pheophorbide-a was performed in order to find new chlorin derivatives. Alga spirulina was extracted and purified by flash chromatography on silica gel column to obtain pheophytin-a which was converted to pheophorbide-a methyl ester. Ten new chlorin derivatives were obtained by addition of vinyl group at 3-position, substitution at 20-meso position and modification in E-ring of pheophorbide-a methyl ester and the structures of all compounds were characterized by spectroscopic data. The aim of modification was to increase the longest absorption band (Qy hand) and improve the bioavailability by connecting different groups. All of these had the important meaning for seeking new photosensitizers.
