Justice is the first virtue of social system, just as truth is the firstvirtue of an ideological system. Justice is the eternal theme inpolitical philosophy. Without the justice of a society, people’s rightsof survival and development can not get security; also the socialstability and social order can not be maintained. Only in a justicesociety, each person can get comprehensive and liberal development,the countries can achieve prosperity and stability, and sustainabledevelopment. In17thcentury, John Locke who is a famous Britishphilosopher, his writings and ideas have a far-reaching influence, stilllight flashing time. Locke’s Two Treatises of Government, especiallythe sequel, regarded as his masterpiece, has been interpreted bypeople in all kinds of ways for a long time, but about the justice ofpolitical philosophy has been neglected by the people. This paper ismainly through the Two Treatises of Government (the sequel) toanalyze the Locke’s justice, illustrating Locke is the realism,restricting the power of the country’s (the government); safeguardingthe individual rights. It attempts to have a depth understanding ofLocke’s thoughts and age in which he lived and the impact on thecapitalism, in order to inspire us who live under the guidance ofMarxism, conducting the construction of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics. Justice is a major pillar to support the building ofhuman society, if the pillar is removed, the massive human society isbound to fall apart immediately. Justice is the first virtue of socialistcountry system. Justice is to respect each person, safeguard thelegitimate rights and interests for them. Under the circumstances of freedom and equality, it aims to create comprehensive developmentopportunities for each person.This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One gives theintroduction of discussing the contemporary significance of justiceproblems. Chapter Two is from the origin aspects respectively, timebackground, empirical epistemology, freedom of right consciousness,and religious to introduce the theoretical basis of Locke’s justicethought. Chapter Three focuses on the detailed analysis of the maincontents in Locke’s thought of justice. The construction of histhought of justice is based on the hypothesis of natural state, tojustice: agreement of a social contract. Locke stressed the importanceof property rights, considering “no wealth no fair”. At the same time,he thinks the government is the guarantee of justice. The duty of thegovernment is to protect every person’s life, liberty, property, rightsand power to achieve the restriction and balance. Chapter Fourintroduces the development and practice of Locke’s thought of justicewhich has had a major influence. The last part, chapter Five usesMarxist perspective to understand Locke’s thought of justice, andreflecting on it has what significance to contemporary China.
