In the classical exogenous cue-target paradigm, when a target is presented in thesame location as a cue within a stimulus onset asynchrony (SOA) of250ms or less, target detection is facilitated. However, when the SOA is extended to more than250ms, target detection is slowed at the cued location. This phenomenon is calledinhibition of return (IOR).Using the cue-target paradigm as used in other studies, in the present study weexplored the IOR of self-face and other-face in different SOAs. The study is dividedinto two experiments, the first experiment contained five different SOAs(250ms,300ms,500ms,750ms or960ms); the second experiment contained five differentSOAs(250ms,500ms,900ms,1200ms or1500ms).The results shows: In the first experiment, the IOR of self-face is less thanother-face, this result show that self-face can compete for attentional resource. In thefirst experiment, the result is consistent with the experimental1before SOA(900ms),the IOR of self-face is more than other-face in SOA(1200ms).
