Erhu Performance Reference And Guqin Playing Techniques

The development of the art of erhu can not be separated from the inheritance,reference and innovation of its playing technique. This research investigates theplaying technique of erhu in playing the erhu musical compositions related to guqinfrom two perspectives: the acts in the playing technique of erhu borrowed from thatof guqin, and erhu’s representation of the sound effects of guqin’s playing technique.Through analyzing and comparing the playing techniques of the two instruments,combining with one’s own experience in playing erhu, this research investigates andtries to articulate the erhu’s playing technique related to guqin.
