Great changes have taken place since the1980s in American Broadway theater industry.Research of American Broadway theater industry since the1980s comparatively analyze thechanges in organization structure, development strategy and drama transmission of Broadwaytheatre industry before and after the80s. The study give an in-depth interpretation oftransformation direction and the reasons of transformation for the80s Broadway theaterindustry. The study finally draw the conclusions: Broadway theater industry since the80s hastransformed with following characteristics,globalized in its coverage, industrialized in itsproduction phase, commercialized in its creation stage. These transformation can be attributedto external causes and internal causes: culture commercialization and rising in the dramaproduction costs strongly affected the development of the drama industry are the externalfactors of the transformation. The mixture of art and capital and the "heteronomy" in art lawover adjust Broadway theater industry in the80s are the internal factors of the transformation.Broadway drama development will give certain enlightenment for the survival anddevelopment of Chinese drama industry.
