The Guqin art has a long history, after the inheritance and development ofthousands of years, formed many schools. Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty Xu Changyufounded the Guangling Musical School of Guqin, gradually become the mostimportant school in the history. and nurtured many talents of Guqin. Liu Shaochunand Zhang Ziqian as the main representative in the modern.In this thesis the author choose Liu Shaochun (1901-1971), the tenth-generationsuccessor of Guangling Musical School as the subject investigated. He was born inFuping,Shanxi, and epitomized the thought of the contemporary Guangling MusicalSchool. He was the very person who advanced and enriched the soul of GuanglingMusic, and lighted the path for the successors of Guangling Music.Guqin is not only a branch of the art music, it is a master of the traditional culture.The thesis based on the traditional culture. By using the method of the combinationof music and the historiography, make a systematic explanation of Liu Shaochun’sartistic style and achievements of Guqin.The thesis consists of three parts:the lifetime, the art style and the deepinfluence on traditional music of Liu Shaochun. The author look back all LiuShaochun’s life, and study on his performing events in Shanxi,Yangzhou and Nanjing.Take a research on9masterpieces of Liu Shaochun, to find out the feature from hismusic composing. So make a summary of Liu Shaochun’s influence on traditionalmusic. And try to seek out the value of Liu Shaochun’s music by investigating on allcontributions who made in Guqin Music.
