Jia Pingwa is a male writer known for shaping the image of women.Indepth-reading of his works,the author find he has the tendency of female worship inhis own unique understanding and appreciation of the female.But in the constructionof the image of women,he is stagnated in the tradition too much to make the lives ofwomen being seriously affected by the cultural norms and constraints,the women’sreal desire.cannot being conveyed.Thus,the author thinks,his view of women exists aprofound internal contradictions.In this thesis,the author has carefully comb、analysisand discuss Jia Pingwa’s performance about his contradictory views towardswomen,furthermore,from multi-angle explore the reasons that affect his contradictoryconcept formation.The thesis is divided into five parts.The introductory section is mainly used to present Jia Pingwa’s creations in theliterary world,and the current research achivement for his views of women fromdomestic and foreign scholars.The first chapter proposes Jia Pingwa’s creation both deviate and regress arule,that gender stereotyping can affect male writers creation.Thus,his view of womenhas been basically judged.The second chapter combs and explores the development orbit of Jia Pingwa’scontradictory views on women in his works.In the early Mountain Notes stage,therelationship between men and women in the work is set to as such two modes:"Onewoman and two men" and "One woman and many men".Graceful women are put intothe confusion of love choice,to convey the writer’s judgement of the social value.Atthis time,male-chauvinism are in a latent state been expressed hidden,the contradictviews towards the female been firstly exposed.From The Impetuous,the relationshipbetween men and women mainly be set as “One man and two women",the men startliving in the center of the narrative,women are marginalized,and the androcentricconsciousness been highlighted.Female are been mechanically divided into threetypes to shape,been implicitly or explicitly arranged as male service,and the contradictviews towards the female been basically formed.Until The Ruined Capital,the modeof “One man and two women" has been boldly adopted,the androcentricconsciousness thoroughly presents.In this stage,female divinity and spiritualitysubsided,the men no longer worship any female.To the stage of Qin Qiang,TheRuined Capital style indulgence is constrained to a certain extent,return to therelationship mode of “One man and two women”,the female again become a symbolof social value,but the free and independent spirit of the modern woman is stillabsent,showing the limitations of the writer.The third chapter explores the causes of Jia Pingwa’s contradictory views onwomen from three aspects,that are influence from geographical and culturalenvironment、Jia’s contradictory character and traditional cultural psychology.In the conclusion part,make a summary and evaluation of Jia Pingwa’s view towards women.This paper takes a depth interpretation of Jia Pingwa’s representativeworks,discovery a truth that Jia’s view towards women in the early works is verydifferent from his in later works:change absolutely looking-up into completelyoverlooking.Through the analysis of the works characters, narrative mode and plotstructure,found that Jia’s view of women has always been incontradiction,futhermore,the appearance of Jia’s women worship concealed theessence of Jia’s male-centered awareness.
