Horizon Fusion Connotation And Significance Of Western Comparative History

Nowadays, because of the characteristics of the humanities and the history of long-term interaction, the hermeneutics is becoming a famous school and gets more and more attention and application in the research of Philosophy, Literature and History. Gadamer is the great scholar in the history of development of hermeneutics, and the fusion of horizons is an important part of Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics, which prompts the fusion of horizons become the focus of the hermeneutical research activities. Problems in the process of fusion of horizons, such as the vorurteil, understanding and explanation, text, not only are the problems of philosophy, but also the objects which the histories are very concerned. A very close relation has built between the fusion of horizons and the realistic pursuit of Chinese-European History Comparison with the characteristics of the characteristics of the "dialogue", the intersubjectivity which the fusion of horizons has deduced. By way of the studying of the fusion of horizons helps us to build a theory of the Chinese-European History Comparison system, and enrich the theoretical basis of the comparison of history.This thesis includes foreword, text and conclusion. The foreword introduces the research both at home and abroad at present, and summarizes the significance and value of this theme. The text can be divided into three parts.The first part, first of all, the thesis discussed the development and concept of fusion of horizons and hermeneutics, especially Schleiermacher to Gadamer’s fusion of horizons development in modern times, and summarized the definition and characteristics of the fusion of horizons, then, analyzed the characteristics of the fusion of horizons. The author believes that the vorurteil is the core part of Gadamer’s fusion of horizons, and also an important prerequisite for the formation of the fusion of horizons. A correct understanding of vorurteil ensured the formation of a fusion of horizons.The second part discussed with the purpose and mode of the fusion of horizons. The author focused on the fusion of horizons in the understanding and explanation, to analyze its concepts and background, and the text to be explored and combined with the theory of history. Then the authors analyzed the relationship between understanding and explanation, and explored the role and relationship between hermeneutics and history. In the large field of humanities, understanding and explanation of both an ontological, it is also a methodology; Not only is the way of fusion of horizons, it is also the way of historical research.The third part is the focus of this article. This section attempts discusses the important affects which are made by fusion of horizons to the Chinese-European History Comparison. The author depth analyzed of the relationship between fusion of horizons and the Chinese-European History Comparison and probed the significant affects made by fusion of horizons to the Chinese-European History Comparison via the paradigm of understanding and explanation of the fusion of horizons, characteristics of the "dialogue", and the conception of tradition, the discussion of subjective and objective etc.In the Conclusion, the author attempted to make a summary of the full text with the different characteristics of the development of Chinese and Western historiography. The author believe that with the development of the process of globalization, the communication and collision between Chinese historiography and Western historiography will be increasing day by day. The author discussed that how to develop our own historiography, and how to deal with the tradition of Chinese historiography in the trend of globalization, then analyzed the fusion of horizons for Chinese and Western historiography, particularly the revelation of the development of Chinese historiography.
