The research objects of the thesis are those works that combine romance with historybased on the legends of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Specifically, the thesis generalizes andsummarizes the characteristics reflected on the works and explores the reasons that formthe feature of the pattern. The whole text is divided into three parts that are introduction,four chapters and conclusion.On the basis of gathering previous studies and sorting out scholar’s research results,the introduction of this paper sums up topics of the thesis and discusses the relevant contentof the research situation.The first chapter outlines those works that possess the pattern on the legends of Mingand Qing Dynasties briefly, which also introduces the historical background. And then thehistorical background is divided the period into four and explained respectively. It resumesand summarizes the feature of the time.The second chapter is the main body of this paper focusing on features. The partstudies the topic of the paper totally and sums up the feature from the aspects of the works.The features are mainly art method of associating fiction with reality, plot structure of twoclues interweaved, the promoting effect on plot developing of the love things andcharacters with politics.The third chapter mainly analyses the reason of forming the characteristics of thismode. The chapter discusses three parts respectively. They are the inheritance of literaturetradition which includes previous drama and story, the infiltration of social thoughts duringthe Ming and Qing Dynasties which means Xinxue and Shixue, emotional tendency ofwriters embracing writer paying attention to and getting away from the society. And thechapter discusses the reasons of features from the aspects of works ideas and writers.The fourth chapter mainly overall summarizes the effect and value of this mode fromthe effect of the narrative mode on narrative literature. The mode has a far-reaching effecton narrative literature, which incorporates form and type. At the same time, the modechanges the style of the history of traditional opera and literature. Its value mainlyembodies in the enrichment of narrative mode, offering a wide space for the production oftraditional opera. Meanwhile, it pours into new things for traditional opera by giving thereform and innovation to narrative mode partly. Finally, the chapter summarizes the culturalvalue of traditional opera, namely reflecting the life vividly.The conclusion sums up the contents, features, reasons and values, pointing out theshortcomings and reason of the thesis.
