In necent years, religions spreads rapidly in the western rural areas of Chi na. Especially the rapid development of Christan has a close connection with s uch objective social reality as gap between Eastern and Western religion,urban-r ural differences,polarization between the rich and poor,and weakened function o f grassroot organizations.In the light of social development, religion is a doubl e-edgeal sword.As a result,we should not only pay attention to its stability fun ction but also take notice of its bad effect on social development.This thesis take people from Qinan county,Tianshui city, Gansu province.A s the target group to do the research on religion believes.Qinan county has a b road and profound history which has Dadi day relics that proved it is one of t he birthplace of Chinese ancient culture.The myths and regends shows that Fu Hsi and Nuwa were multiplied descendants of the Chinese nation and built hu man civilization here.Therefore,.The religions and living habits here have the co mmon character of China’s western region and also own their unique characteri stics.This thesis is aiming at present a complete nesearch and study on Qinan county’s religion through the combination of questionnaires,personal interview a nd actual visit.Meanwhile,knowledges of religions studies,sociology and sycholo gy are also used to support my thesis.This whole thesis have six chapters concluding introductory theory,main bo dy,conclusion and references.The second chapter named"Research of Qinan peop le’s believe under historical and cultural view".has made an investigation on hi story and folk believes to discuss situations of Qinan people’s believe.The third chapter named "The research and analysis on the identity of Qinan public fait h"made a statistics and data analysis on questionnaines.And the fourth chapter named "The relationship between religions believe and local county as an exa mple"analyzed social and economic development respectively.
