"5C" Aim Teaching Chinese Language And Strategy Of American Youth Camp Project

With the increasing enthusiasm for the learning of Chinese language, more and more American students come to China to learn Chinese. Some American teenagers even take advantage of Chinese Language Summer Camp to experience Chinese culture and folk customs. This article presents an application and strategy based on5C objective teaching method for American teenagers in Chinese Language Summer Camp. Through the analysis of the Chinese teaching situation both in China and America, the character of Chinese Language Summer Camp, the Standards for Foreign Language Learning and the mentality of the students, this paper comes up with a new teaching idea, which will be more fit for Chinese Language Summer Camp. This article consists of four parts:The first chapter is a brief introduction of the Chinese teaching situation both in China and America as well as the market demands of Chinese Language Summer Camp in China. The second chapter is the theoretical basis and feasibility study. Through the analysis of the character of Chinese Language Summer Camp and the introduction of the objective teaching method, this chapter demonstrates that this is a feasible study. The third chapter gives a real example that the author has experienced. It mainly analyzes the "5c" standard for the teaching goal of Chinese language summer camp class inside and outside activities, and the teaching procedures of the Chinese classes there. The fourth chapter proposes some problems that may come out in teaching and managing. It also comes up with some application strategy based on5C objective teaching method, including the requirements for teachers and Chinese teaching and the importance of culture experience and language application to get the language appropriateness.
