At present the study of the monarchy is more focused on the difference between the system of comparative study, case for empirical research as well as a single national construction and the deconstruction of the monarchy. Research on different kinds of the monarchy is still lack of systematic study, especially for the current existing monarchy in the world. Regime types in26monarchy countries are compared in this article through analysis method of comparative politics. By studying the monarchy’s running rule as well as the problem in their development, we try to find out the characteristics in political system which is based on the study of the formation and existent fundamental feature of the monarchy. Then we make a preliminarily discussion on the monarchy’s future development trend. At last, we analyze and research on the emerging issues in the process of political modernization as well as the measures need to take, employing the famous political scientist Samuel P. Huntington’s theory of the three levels of political modernization and Gabriel A. Almond’s theory of political system, process and policy to the monarchy. This study may have some certain reference value.Through comparative study and comprehensive analysis, we argue that the future development of the contemporary monarchy will not have a thorough exit from the political arena which many scholars believe, and it also won’t easily give the political power to democracy republican system. We deem that the monarchy will be reformed from traditional society of government development mode through different characteristics of modern political development and transformation, having a distinctive political development path of each has its own characteristics.
