China’s Marine Economic Development And System Innovation On The Protection Of Marine Ecosystem

As a developing coastal country, with increasing exploiting and utilizing activities on themarine resources, China faces more and more serious marine ecological and environmentalproblems. The mid20thcentury saw the beginning of the construction of law system on theprotection of marine ecosystem of China. Through more than five decades’ endeavor, the lawsystem of marine ecosystem protection with Chinese characteristics has been shaped primarily.However, there are still major gaps between the current development of international institutionson protecting marine environment and that of China.It is far more inadequate to depend merely on the primarily formed law system to solve themarine ecological and environmental problems. We also need to realize the joint of the policy andlaws on marine economy and marine ecosystem protection, and the perfection andinstitutionalization of the law system on marine ecological and environmental protection.The current thesis, therefore, from the development of the marine economy and the challengesmarine economic development brings to the protection on marine ecosystem, theoretically analyzesthe developmental state and tendency of marine economy and the policy of marine ecosystemprotection. We try to, by exploring the problems of the current protection policy and law system inthe marine ecosystem, come up with some constructive suggestions on the perfection of lawsystem on marine environmental protection of our country.
