The research in local government supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprise has been paying more attention by social and academia all the time. It is also a long-term task, which must be faced by China’s governments at all levels. Small and medium-sized enterprises are main sectors in national economy and social development. They also play an active part in stimulating economy, accommodating employment, promoting innovatio and facilitating people. Since the1980s, the small and medium-sized enterprises have developed quickly. It’s advantage in many industries and fields of the national economy has been shown gradually, especially in the coastal areas with developed economy such as Guangdong Jiangsu and Shanghai. Small and medium-sized enterprises have taken an extremely important part in the construction of market economy.Focusing on the description of current developmental situation of small and medium-sized enterprises i n Tianjin, the thesis systematically analyzes main methods, current problems and its reasons of local govern ment in supporting these enterprises. The author carries out this research from the aspect of historical comp arison. The author adopts advanced experience from home and aboard of excellent provinces and cities.
