After president Obama came to power, the U.S. Asia-Pacific strategy had a substantial adjustments, put forward the Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy playing Asia-Pacific region into a vital position of the U.S. global strategy. With the U.S. Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy has been implemented into a new phase, it has been coincide more and more with the Mearsheimer’s offensive realism, the intention to maintain hegemony of the U.S. Rebalancing strategy is consistent with the objective of the offensive realism which is maximize the power to seek hegemony;in order to sustain the purpose of maintaining hegemony, the rebalancing strategy must be completed to strive for power; the rebalancing strategy means to China, so is coincide with the China threat theory which is advocated by the offensive realism.This paper first discusses the important theoretical source of the Obama administration’s Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy——offensive realism, focusing on the analysis of ideological framework and the characteristics of the offensive realism.Then, the paper analyze the Obama administration’s Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy, the main contents include the propose, causes and characteristics of the re-balancing strategies.On these basis, the paper is from the perspective of offensive realism to analyze the Obama administration’s Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategyy the intention to maintain hegemony of the U.S. Rebalancing strategy is consistent with the objective of the offensive realism which is maximize the power to seek hegemony;in order to sustain the purpose of maintaining hegemony, the rebalancing strategy must be completed to strive for power; meanwhile, a prominent feature of the Obama administration’s rebalancing strategy is the definition of the strategic objectives, it means to China, so is coincide with the China threat theory which is advocated by the offensive realism.The paper last discusses the impacts of the U.S. Rebalancing strategy.These effects is mainly in the following areas:the military deployment of U.S. might deepen the level of militarization of the Asia-Pacific countries; the existing balance of Asia-Pacific region may be broken; it may shock the of economic order of Asia-Pacific region; the hot issues may continue to heat up. Base on these effects,this paper argues that we should discern the substance of offensive realism theory to better deal with the U.S.Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy,and make efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region to safeguard China’s national interests.
