On The Legal Protection Of Privacy Of Public Figures

The ultimate aim of Law is to safeguard the social fairness and justice。Privacy is animportant and specific personality rights to citizens of many countries in modernsociety.Many countries such as The United States are giving the strict privacy protection totheir citizens. However，the privacy protection system in our country has not beenimproved, especially the privacy of public figures. Currently, the protection of privacy inour country has been taking indirect measures. Most of the privacy is protected through theright of reputation and personality, thus, it is really difficult to maximum protect people’sright of privacy.what’s worse, there is not a clear definition on public figures so that theprivacy of public figures can hardly be protected in legal practice. However, cases aboutencroaching the right of public figures’ privacy happen everyday in reality society.Therefore, how to try its best to protect the right of public figure’s privacy needs theimprovement of the law.The article is divided into three parts, on the legal protection of privacy on publicfigure carried out gradually in-depth discussion.Chapter1presents the conception of privacy、the right of privacy and the right ofpublic figure’s privacy. Firstly, the privacy and the right of the privacy will be stated.then,discussing the public figure’s privacy through some cases and analysis.Finally, theclassification and particularities of the public figure’s privacy will be taken into discussion.Chapter2presents the protection of public figure’s privacy. It analyzes the reasonsand necessity of its protection. Then learning from the developed counties’ law on publicfigure’s privacy such as the United States and German.Chapter3presents the current situation, deficiency and improvement of the protectionof the public figure’s privacy in our country. Firstly,the paper analyze its current situationthrough three aspects,such as constitution,criminal law and civil law. Then its deficiencywill be pointed out. Finally, the author will throw out some suggestions on itsimprovement.
