Pound's Theory Of Social Engineering

This article elaborates the social engineering theory which is the most prominent achievements of Roscoe Pound. It is on reading most of Roscoe Pound’s work. This article is divided into three parts:preface, text and epilogue, a total of around thirty thousand words. The part of Introduction introduces the background and the significance of the study. The text of the first chapter is the source of the problem about the pound sociology of law thought. Due to the comprehensiveness and complexity of the doctrine of Roscoe pound, the article mainly introduces the pound’s personal growth as well as his social background and theoretical background. Chapter two and chapter three are the main parts of the paper, this part expounds social engineering theory. It is from sociology to the law sociology research until the social engineering theory, from macro to micro. The article analysis the inherent logic of social engineering theory.The view of law of Pound is cleared, the relationship between civilization, interest and law is cleared, either. It emphasize the law is a major means of social control. The last part analysis the influence of Social control theory, and the influence to China.
