The Transformation Study On The Shantytowns Of Dalate Banner In Erdos

Shanty towns transformation is a part of city planning, city construction and city development, refering to the activities of the demolition of squatter settlements and the planning and construction to the left block buildings. Shanty towns transformation is an important project of affordable housing construction, is one of the important measures about people’s livelihood, expansion of domestic demand and the protection for the growth. Therefore, the study of shanty towns of the Dalate Banner is of great theoretical and practical significance.This paper mainly, according to the city planning practice, combines the principle of Geddes theory, City Renaissance theory and Urban organic renewal theory, city planning and shanty towns transformation theory and method, the transformation of squatter settlements and the status of the local economy as well as some restricted conditions together. Besides, this paper will illustrate and invest the present situations and prolems existed as well as causes for that. Although Dalate’s shantytowns renovation work has made remarkable achievements in improving squatters living environment, and promoting the construction of city’s development of Dalate, it still faces the slow-speed demolition, low capacity for drainage facilities, less concentration on transformation thoroughly,bad infrastructure, overleft commerce and special planning’s laying behind etc. The main reasons are the lack of systematic investigation and analysis of the reform process and the lack of public participation and long-term planning, the lack of organic renewal" to the centralized areas of the city, the lack of consideration to the overall function and a single financing channels etc.. On the basis of the analysis, considering some experience from other domestic cities and the local actual situation, this paper puts forward the countermeasures with target and creatively to the shanty towns of the Dalate Banner by using relevant theoretical reseraches, such as strengthening the analysis and investigation to the land’s potentiality, strengthening the public participation and the continuity planning to the drainage system, insisting on the centralized renovation, the overall balance of the shanty towns, broadening the financing channels and strengthening the guidance of special planning, which will provide theoretical support and reference for the reform of Dalate’s shantytowns. In conclusion, city planning of public policy and management should put the improvements of the shanty-towns’ transformation in an important position, and take effective and reasonable policy guidances to speed up the transformation of squatter settlements, so as to improve the quality of city residents’lives to improve the image of the city and its grade.
