Research On The China’s Good Neighbor Foreign Policy To ASEAN

As China’s good neighbor, the historical and culture exchange between china andASEAN countries has lasted for a long time. The ASEAN has grown into a significancepower in Asia-Pacific region since it was established in1967, which plays a more andmore important role in china’s diplomacy than ever before. As a result of twenty years’development after the Cold War, the ASEAN has been not only China’s importantcooperative partner which to stable the surrounding environment and maintain thegrowth period of strategic opportunities but also china’s strategic base to be a superpower in the world. The development in Chinese-ASEAN relations has the vitalsignificance to maintain Chinese peace development process and achieve the greatrejuvenation of the Chinese Dream. To promote and strength the relations with ASEANcountries, China gave up supporting Communist revolution and refusing to admitnon-communist States policy in southeast of Asia after the Cold War. The good neighborforeign policy began to be china’s choice. In the21st century, the good-neighborly anddiplomatic relations between China and ASEAN has developed rapidly driven by china.the trend of systematization and institutionalization of Bilateral relations acceleratedapparently, which become a model for the development of the China’s foreign relations.On the other hand with the deepening interdependence, contradictions and conflicts ofinterest between bilateral also unceasingly highlighting out. How to deal with gradualchange of China-ASEAN relations and how to continue to carry out and implement thegood neighbor foreign policy is becoming a test of diplomatic wisdom of Chinesediplomats. This article exerts the "National Center Path" analytical framework to analysis ofthe formation and development process of China-ASEAN good neighbor foreign policypost-Cold War, which based on post-Cold War international background substantialeasing of the international situation. To adopt the perspective of governmentdecision-making, combing the Post-Cold War especially the early21st centuryChina-ASEAN connotation and characteristics of good neighbor foreign policy, whichwere evaluated on the basis of the performance achievements and challenges from twoaspects of the implementation of the good neighbor foreign policy and the challengesfor the realities facing the corresponding solutions proposed, to provide the feasibilityadvice for development of China-ASEAN good neighbor foreign policy on the future.
