In the historical development of the river in India, women have made outstanding contributions. However, due to the imbalance in the development of the unique history of India, institutional and socio-political and economic development, but also coupled by a profound impact on the traditional system and bad habits, and social status of women in India is still low, women’s basic right to life and security of the person can’t get due protection. Truly improving the social status of women in India for the Indian government is still a big challenge and responsibility. The current India is getting towards modernization, whether women can get true liberation, the modernization of India has played a crucial role. This article attempts from the perspective of the history of the development status of women of India to explore the present situation of the contemporary Indian women’s social status, and analyze the factors that restrict women’s social status, so as to explore the methods which improve the Indian women’s social status.This paper is made of the introduction and five parts. The first part from the perspective of the history of the development of women’s status in India states the changes of the Indian women’s social status, mainly from the former Indian Review and two large independent post-independence period; The second part analyzes the status quo and characteristics of the contemporary Indian women’s social status, mainly from the women’s politics, economy, marriage and family and culture education level, this part emphatically analyzes the Indian women’s status in the marriage and family status; The third part analyzes the restriction factors of Indian women’s social status, mainly from India, the inherent aspects of the institutional level, the level of women’s own factors and legal construction; At the fourth part the author puts forward the ways to improve the Indian women’s social status, mainly from the government, society, women themselves, the legal construction of the system level; At the fifth part, the author has carried on the summary and allows us to further realize the power of a strong woman and India to improve the social status of women and the importance of urgently.
