After the establishment of the Han Dynasty, Chinese society had had a greatchange and Social conflicts were becoming increasingly obvious With the demised ofthe Legalist Thought and The prevalenced of Huang Lao thought. The court ruquires anew kind of thought for solving these contradictions and maintaining control. TheNeo-Confucianism, which proposed by DongZhongshu, complied with the society andaim of rulers. It blended morals with law.“Adjudicating suit in line with the sprit ofSpring and Autumn” is a kind of trial manner which introduces Confucianism into laws.It is proposed by DongZhongshu in Western Han Dynasty. It means officials may judgecases by the spirit of spring and autumn classics when they plunge into legal limbo.“Adjudicating suit in line with the sprit of Spring and Autumn” opened theConfucianism process of Chinese law, it not just affected the law in Western HanDynasty but affected the formation of Chinese legal system for a long time. Nowadaysthe evaluation towards “Adjudicating suit in line with the spirit of Spring and Autumn”in the law science circle is mixed. To learn more about “Adjudicating suit in line withthe sprit of Spring and Autumn” in order to get more advices on the construction of acountry ruled by law,this article launched a series of research about its causes,meaning,and sunmmed up its positive effects and disadvantages of the law system of theHan Dynasty.
