A Probe Into Career Education Of College Students

The relationship between Ideological and Political Education and Career Education is of great importance, which two are both included in College Student Work. The paper tries to illustrate the meaning,the content,the development and the promotion of Career Education of College Students from the point of view of Ideological and Political Education.The article represents the traits of Ideological and Political Education,at the same time it also emphasizes how to better Career Education of College Student.The realistic meaning of researching Career Education of College Student based on Ideological and Political Education is highlighted in such social environment full of the coexistence of unemployment and labor shortage, the utilitarian phenomena and moral desert. Specifically, this paper is divided into three parts:Part I:Occupation Career Education qualities.The meaning of occupation, career. Occupation Career Education are introduced in the basical concept.Meanwhile,some terms,such as occupation career planning and employment guidance, which maybe easily confused with Occupation Career Education, are referred in this part.In addition,this part also analyses the objectives and characteristics. Lastly, the author explains the synergy among Ideological and Political Education and Occupation Career Education.Firstly,both of them aim at the full development of students on guiding ideology.Secondly,the education of contents of the two cross each other. Lastly, the later is the carrier of the former while the former is the lifeline of the later.Part II:The author collected material by interviewing several students from East China Normal University, Fujian Medical University and Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. Besides, the material coming from the internet, books, newspapers and periodicals was also gathered in this part. Based on the material referred, the author analyses the development of College Students’ Occupation Career Education. The function of Ideological and Political Education is especially emphasized here. The development could be divided into two aspects:the successful exploration and the deficiency. It has succeeded in three aspects. First, people pay more and more attention to Occupation Career Education. And then, teachers inside and outside the school start the integration increasingly. Third, the education content is getting much more rich and colorful. However, there are still defects needing improved. The curriculum setup should be more scientific. And the power responsible for Occupation Career Education of Undergraduates is too weak to realize the development. The shortness of entrepreneurship education of college students is another thorny problem. The characteristics of the education have been different from different majors. The final problem is that the relevant departments fail to integrate Occupation Career Education of Undergraduates with Ideological and Political Education. What are the reasons that cause such deficiency? The theory of Occupation Career Education fail in localization, which must be one of reasons leading to the problems. The precise connotation of Occupation Career Education hasn’t been fully understood, which is another factor. The thin career education atmosphere in most universities and the unformed social mechanism are also obstacles to Occupation Career Education in higher school.Part III:The ways to enhance Occupation Career Education of College Student. First of all, we should insist on some fundamental principles. There are four combinations:encouraging students to realize self-value and meeting demands of the society; continuous planning and periodical arrangement; facing the reality and emphasizing the vision; ability education and quality education. Under the guidance of the four combinations, measures come out. At the beginning, we are supposed to promote the systematization of curriculum of Occupation Career Education of College Students. Then, the characteristics of practice is advised to be further strengthened. Third, bettering the quality of teachers in this field means a great deal. The next is to build multidimensional college students’ occupation consultation and guidance system. The last method is trying to make occupational values more serious during the process of Occupation Career Education.
