With the development of the National Fitness Campaign and increasedawareness of body building among residents in Shanghai, physical activity hasbecame a key part in public lifestyle. The relevant literatures which are related tocurrent situation of the body-building among Shanghai residents, sports consciousnessof fitness group in communities and the behavior characteristics of public exercisesare majority. However, studies which are related to fitness group in different ages, thedifferences of the value of physical exercises between urban residents and suburbanresidents and related to exercise behavior relation are rare.In this study, collecting relevant literatures, the questionnaire survey andMathematical statistics will be adopted to study the relation between perceived valueof physical exercises and exercise behavior of fitness group in Shanghai communities.12districts and counties had been involved in this study.1159questionnaires hadbeen distributed and recollected, in which965questionnaires are valid and the validrate are83.2%.According to the result, we can know that:①There is a high correlation in thevalue of physical exercises, the overall exercise behavior and all dimensions inShanghai communities. Improving perceived value of physical exercises of fitnessgroup can effectively improve the enthusiasm and initiative of exercises.②InShanghai community fitness group, females got an obvious higher score than malesfrom the aspect of the exercise of the emotional experiences and value cognition, andthe aspect of the sense of behavioral control.③There is a big difference betweendifferent ages fitness group in the value of exercise recognition and behaviors. Theyouth group was at a lower level. The older fitness group was, the deeper the value ofexercise recognition was. The older fitness group was, the more the times of exercises.④At the aspect of attitudes for exercises and behavior control, urban fitness grouphas a higher score than suburban fitness group.⑤The cognitive value level andemotional experiences and the sense of behavior control have a close relation withexercise attitudes, in which emotional experiences influence mostly. In this essay, some suggestions have been raised:①Departments should bemulti-channel, multi-faceted and multi-form, and should be responsible for raisingawareness of exercise’s value among residents.②In order to offer better services toresidents, social fitness instructors’ exercise knowledge and guidance capabilityshould be strengthen.③The investigations which are related to public health statusand exercise characteristics should be carried out to develop more effective policiesand take more effective measures.④To enhance fitness group’s exercise awareness insuburban areas and to encourage people who are responsible for Sports Center toinnovate positively. Traditional folk sports should be developed in rural areas andfitness activities should be promoted.
