The Study On The Features Of The Winner In The Serve Ga Me Scored By The World’s Top Single Man Tennis Players

The winners in tennis matches play a considerably significant role not only in the performance of players’ offensive power and scoring skills and the enhancement of the glamour of the match itself and its ornamental values but also in creating atmosphere of the competition terrain and helping the athletes to adjust to the competition and relieve even release pressure.The features of the winners scored by the world elite male tennis single players are taken as the study object through the following main methods such as documentation method, mathematical statistics method, comparative analysis method and logical analysis method. The match vedios of the right-hand players who ranked in the top eight in the present year-end ATP are taken as the observation object. Based on the statistics done from the three kinds of firm ground matches like grand slam matches, Tennis Master Series and the year-end final, the winning points gained by these players in then-service games are fully analyzed for probing into the stroke features of the winning points in their serves and indicating the relation between the winning point and its previous stroke. The research results are as follows.(1)The successive order of the frequency of the shot that players utilize when they obtain the winners is serve> forehand> volley> backhand> smash>short ball> slice> lob.(2)In the different stages of one-point competitive unit, the overall winners reduce within the increase of shoot times.(3)In different stages of one game, the number of winners is the largest before deuce, and is far larger at the game points than that at the break points. In different time during the game like before the deuce, after the deuce and at the game point, there is no significant difference revealed in both the number of the winners and the ratio that they take up in the total winners among the top four players. (4)In the serve game, it is advantageous for the players’holding the serve to obtain winners. Players in the serve game with a winner far more tend to hold the serve than that without a winner. The distribution of winners show that the winners emerged after first sever is far more than that emerged after first sever. Along with the increase of winners in serve games, the broken rate is falling.(5)The features of ACE:the number of ACE distributes on deuce court is larger than the advantage court, and the number of ACE for the first serve is larger than that for the second serve; the average speed of ACE flatten and side spinned by players is202km/h and180km/h, and there is no significant difference between the two areas; the batting line and placement of ACE concentrates in four regions of the inside corners and the outside corners, the number of ACE at the inside corner at deuce court is far larger than the other three regions. There are much more flatten ACE than the spinned ones, and the sidespin is the only way of spin to acquire an ACE; the deuce court is the only area where to get spinned ACE.(6)The features of winner at offensive and defensive phase after serve:forehand, backhand and volley are the main shot methods to acquire winners; the batting line mainly concentrated at the left-straight line, left-diagonal lines, middle-left diagonal lines and middle-right diagonal line; hitting area distribute vertically in these areas successively, backcourt>midfield>frontcourt, horizontally in these areas, middle> left half> right field; the placement of winners are mainly concentrated in four areas, which is in the order of7area>9area>6area>5area; most of players use the topspin to acquired winner at this phase.(7)The features of relation between the winners and the serves in the stage of stalemate is that the third shot after the first serve acquires more winners than the third shot after the second serve; the shot method of the third shot after the first serve to acquire winners is different from that after the first serve; the routes of the winners differs largely attributed to different serve line; the winners’hitting areas distribute in different areas due to the different service areas where the serves are shot. When the serves which drop at the in-corner and the out-corner combined with the third shots dropping in7area, it turns out to get the most winners. The sidespin serve and topspin serve of the third shot are the main combination of spins.(8)The features of winners at stalemate phase:the number of winners each player get differs indistinctively. The mainly way of shot for acquiring winners are forehand, volley, smash and backhand. The successive using frequency of these shots is forehand winners> volley winners> smash winners> backhand. The batting line mainly focuses on the left-straight line, left-diagonal line, middle-left diagonal line, middle-right diagonal line, right-diagonal line and right-straight line. The three areas where players get most winners is the left of backcourt> the middle of midfield> the middle frontcourt; and the falling spot t of winners distributes mainly in four areas, which is in the order of7area>6area>4area>9area. At the stalemate phase, the overall number of topspin shot is larger than backspin shot, and compared to the third shot, the ratio of topspin is dropped.(9)The features of the relation between the winner shot and the previous shot in the stage of stalemate is that the players more tend to change the shot method, ball route, hitting area and falling spot to get winners. And players are more likely to choose the same spin as the previous shot to get winners in the stalemate, thus topspin used in the winner shot and the previous shot is the most favourable change of spin in the stalemate for players.
