Taekwondo is basically formed in three parts—TAE for kicking, KWON for punching,as well as Do, which is a skilled artistic method. On the other hand, Taekwondo is also usedto train the athlete in a moral stage. Taekwondo was first counted an official Olympic event inthe year of2000, when the Sydney Olympic Games were held. Proudly to mention thatduring that time our athlete named Chen Zhong won the first precious Olympic gold metal inTaekwondo for team China. Although developed rather late in our country, Taekwondo spreadrelatively fast among the nation. According to the numbers of athlete who won in the last fourOlympic Games, despite the fact that Korea was known as the Nation of Taekwondo, the gapbetween them and the other countries are steadily getting closer. To be more specific, basedon the distribution of the sixteen gold metals of the women’s Taekwondo in four differentlevels—The women Taekwondo team in our country got five gold metals and a sliver one, which was just behind Korea, the following teams are Chinese Taipei, Mexico, Britain, Serbia,Australia, turkey and many other countries and regions. It’s noteworthy that there are the two new breakpoints for the Chinese Taekwondo teamon the2012London Olympic Games. Not only did Wu Jingyu defended her Taekwondo-49kg champion; Hou Yuzhuo also won a sliver metal in the Taekwondo-57kg; as well as LiuXiaobo, who for the first time, received a bronze in the men’s Taekwondo+80kg. It’s nothard to predict that the women’s Taekwondo is becoming our potential gold-wining Olympicevent, while the men’s team still needs more practice in order to keep up the pace with the topTaekwondo teams in the world. The12th five-year plan for development of the sports aspectsin our country pointed out that we need to continuously upgrade the structure of our projects,in order to balance the development in sports. Not to mention the importance of keeping theadvantage of our dominant event, at the same time dig out the potential events which we areable to won a metal in. The following article is focusing on the women Taekwondo athletes inour country, especially the Olympic gold metal winner Chen Zhong, Luo Wei and Wu Jingyu;as well as the Olympic silver metal winner Hou Yuzhuo. Researches based on these athleteswere gathered through collecting and organizing the related documents, simplified these into personality characteristic models, which is basically according to their individual status andthe changes occurred in the rules of Taekwondo. In conclusion to find out the similaritiesamong our own women’s Taekwondo team, hopefully it will help out our teams as atheoretical reference in preparing for the2016Rio Olympic Games.
