The Dai nationality, as the larger ethnic group in Yunnan Province,witnesses a long history in the development of economy and social culture. They still restrain their own language and characters up. However as the development of society and the popularization of mandarin Chinese, the old and the new Dai language had the repeated phenomenon in history. At present, people prefer to new Dai language in the majority of social life. They also learn the new Dai language in school. The old Dai language, however, only been used in Burmese temples and some villages. They think Chinese is the most important of all at the same time.As the tradition of Dai, there are monk students in school. These students have to learn the knowledge from the compulsory education system, and study Buddhist sutras and old Dai language in temples. The language transformation and transfer will affect their mastering and applying of language, even the learning of non-linguistic disciplines. As a result, they have negative attitude to learning and bad grades.From the view of code-switching, the paper discusses whether the new and old Dai language have the influence for the monk students’ learning difficulties or not. The research puts the transfer and application of new and old Dai language into the language factors of the monk students’ learning difficulties to analysis, and gives the corresponding Suggestions and countermeasures, they are bilingual educational support and basis to solve the problem of the monk students’learning difficulties, which is this paper’s innovation and value.The chapter1is about the definition of the code-switching, learning difficulty, the development and use of Dai language, bilingual education in Xishuangbanna and so on, and sum up the main research fields and directions of academic circles, finding the shortcoming in the researches of monk students learning difficulties and code-switching etc. and introduced the profile method and questionnaire compile at the same time.The chapter2mainly discusses the development of new and old Dai language system and present situation of bilingual education implementation. With the development of the society and the popularization of mandarin Chinese, both the use of new and old Dai language and the attitude of Dai national minority compatriots to the use of two languages appeared slight change. Based on the present situation, in Xishuangbanna area, the bilingual education has its own type and pattern, which has many contributions and shortcoming at the same time.The chapter3,from the aspects of language and words, the paper has survey to the monk students’learning attitude and grades job, which finds that these students mainly have negative attitude to learning and bad grades and have code-switching difficulties in performance in class and homework finishing, which caused their learning is more difficult.The chapter4from the perspective of the code-switching, mainly discusses the reasons why the monk students have learning difficulties, such the aspects of language, learner, school, family and society. They extremely have influences in monk students’ level of mandarin Chinese, the same as academic level.The chapter5puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for school, teachers, students, family, society and education authorities through the view of the bilingual education, to improve the academic level of the monk students Only by the joint effort of these parts can accomplish the monk students’ code-switching quickly, to improve their level of mandarin Chinese, and ensure the academic level of the monk students improve, as well as the old and new Dai language can survive together and have development.
