With the rapid economic, science and technology development and basiceducation reformation, primary school teachers are facing great challenge, and itbecomes essential to increase quality of teachers. As an important way of enhancingteachers’ specialty and quality, in-job training is highly valued by all governments,and is now an important issue of educational research. Of the in-job training forteachers, training for the ethnic minorities’ region teachers should not to be neglectedaspect, and the training for them has more realistic meaning. By a investigation onpresent situation of teaching and training needs for training on Dongxiangautonomous County, this thesis tries to propose some sort of suggestions for copingwith demand for primary school teachers training. The brief content of this thesis areas follow:The first part introduces the background of teachers’ continuing education,expounds on the necessity of teacher training of primary school in Dongxiangautonomous county, introduces the present exploring status and makes out designsand approaches of the research.The second part, pointing out the teaching shortcomings of primary school inDongxiang autonomous county, analyzes the aspects including teachers strength,teaching resource, teaching communication and activities, and professional qualityand skills of teachers in order to provide the basis for teacher training in this area.The third section details the defects in teacher training and analyzed the demandsof teachers based upon the investigation into training situation including thedifficulties, training content and methods, and the requirement to trainers and traineesin recent three years.The fourth section puts forward the corresponding suggests and strategies,including strengthening the understanding of importance of teacher training, settingtraining goals appropriately, adopting suitable content and methods, increasing theinvestment, upgrading the construction of training base, and improving the quality oftrainees to solve the problems reflected in investigations into present teachingsituationand teachers’demands.
