It is far from enough to study the undergraduate teaching level of a universityrelying only on the transcript of academic record. Instead, it should begin with thesubjectivity of undergraduate education----undergraduates to explore in their eyeshow is the undergraduate teaching actually and whether they are satisfied with theirundergraduate teaching and what are the problems in the undergraduate teaching. Inthis study, the author adopts a semi-open interview, carrying out a in-depth interviewwith13undergraduates of X University from October2012to January2013. As forthe data analysis, the author uses Nvivo9.0software by Australia QSR Company anddraws the conclusion that the undergraduate teaching can be studied from fivedimensions of teaching objectives, the teaching process, teaching resources, teachingmanagement, and the scholarship of teaching, with a total of17ingredients.According to the research from different dimensions, the lowest satisfaction is withthe teaching resources, mainly due to poor hardware facilities of the Northwestern XUniversity, and the highest is the teaching process, mainly owing to the teachers’higher overall quality and professional competence. But the author finds that theundergraduates speak highly of the school climate and study style. Their satisfactionwith teaching management is relatively good, mainly because of each teaching unit ofthe university placing extra emphasis undergraduate teaching and handling theteaching problems in time. As to the teaching objectives and the scholarship ofteaching, these two aspects are not given enough importance and the undergraduateshave no idea about them. This thesis mainly consists of6parts.
