Research On The Strategy Of Characteristic Development Of Universities With Industry Background

With the implementation of the management system of higher education, industry-background universities in China are build by the central government and local governments, which were in the charge of central ministries and industries. With the arrival of the era of mass higher education, establishment of the market economy system, implementation of school-running autonomy and the increasingly fierce competition among universities, most of China’s presidents of universities have to face many problems, such as, how to determine reasonable strategic goals, how to develop a scientific and effective implementation of strategic plan and advanced plan, how to make schools more competitive and continue to move towards excellence.This article is based on the actual development of the distinctive characteristics of industry-background universities. Besides, the author has extensively collected and collated relevant information, documentation, and makes use of analyzed theory of universities development strategy and core competence theory to conduct research. First, this paper takes universities with industry background for the research object, and research carried out in accordance with their own characteristics and laws of industry-background universities. Second, the author details the origin and development of industry-background universities, and uses detailed background information to clarify these universities’ historical contribution to the country and society. Third, in order to provide significant reference for the universities and college to select and develop characteristic development strategy, the author uses the tool of SWOT to analyze industry-background universities. Fourth, this paper has summarized some typical universities’ development experience, which provides preference for the industry-background universities and helps these schools achieve sustainable development. Finally, the paper elaborates the general process of formulating strategic development plan and proposes measures of implementation strategy.In the overall study of higher education management system, the author have found these research findings usually just involve the development strategy in general colleges and universities, so that research on reform and development of industry-background universities is a relatively new field. In this paper, the author conducts a systematic study of the development strategy for the industry-background universities, which is conducive for the government to develop policies and industry-background universities to develop sustainably.
