Content:Nowadays whether parents or schools even societies are putting more and more emphasis on children’s English learning. Parents hold high hopes for their children, and English is taught from Grade one in many schools. Extracurricular English classes are springing up like mushrooms. However, few people have taken into conclusion that what children have suffered under such a society full of competition and pressure. In recent years, some researchers have begun to pay their attentions to children’s inner world, and find that children can also generate different levels of feelings of anxiety to their studies. Especially, the second language learning which is strange to them will make them extra fearful and unease. The author of this thesis, who is an English teacher in primary school, finds that pupils have the feelings of anxiety on their English learning. And it will have a growing tendency as they become older. This thesis aims to discuss the issue of pupils’ anxieties of English learning in order to promote primary English teaching work for better.The research questions as follows:1.The general tendency of students’ anxiety in primary schools, and find the reasons.2.The intervention study of the high anxiety students in primary school students.Research1:Firstly, among188students in English class in primary schools, there does exist English learning anxiety. Then talk with five high anxiety students to find the reason.Research2:Find a experimental class to do the intervention study. After a term, let the students do the questionnaire again to check the results.The Statistics Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS, version11.0) is employed for the data collection and analysis.The research results as follows:1.Different grades exist different levels of the anxiety. The students in6th grade exist the highest level. 2.Experimental intervention really works for reducing the students’ English anxiety.
