With the continuous development of China’s aging trend, many social phenomena and social issues arising therefrom. In particular, it is difficult to have a change with China’s urban-rural dual structure in a short time, elder people living in rural areas facing many problems which urgent needed to be solved:poverty, empty-nest, loss the only child, and so on. The progress to solve these problems in the system and social assistance levels is very slow. Social workers as a relatively new concept type of helpers groups in the public’s view, becoming major groups of helping the elderly, especially older poor persons in rural area who living in a bind. The social workers using the professional western-originated methodology and skills, combined with the actual localization of the elderly poverty population in rural area to carry out social work activities to help others involved in the problems of rural poverty elder persons. In the sight of the social work system, social workers carry out the improvement and reconstruction of personal systems, home systems, and social support network system for this group. This essay based on a rural poverty elder person living in You County, Zhuzhou City, Hunan-Li Aijie, as a case-by-case person, using the social work generic intervention to face her problem, trying to analysis and alleviate the plight of the case in all kinds of system level. A system perspective-based social work intervention on groups of rural poor elders to explore effective ways to make the best possible contribution to the development and stability of the new socialist countryside.
