In early1980s, with the development of economy in rural Shanghai, there was appearing a contradiction between local peasants’nonagricultural transfer and food ordering policy. In order to solve this problem, some production teams and collective farms which were not able to make the ends meet had invited migrant peasants from other provinces to join them. But at that time, the number of migrant peasants was only in a few. With the deepening of the transformation of Society and migrant peasants’ based their own to seek the consideration, more and more migrant peasants pour into Shanghai rural areas. At the same time, their age structure is in a younger trend. Many of them work in the form of family household; they lease lands from Wei or local villagers and live in the same space with local people. In this process, although they will transplant and reconstruct their old networks, but they will also establish a new circle of contacts, at the same time, they will practice their migration and cooperation strategy in a group. Such kind of community is called’binary community’, in which people although live in the same physical space, they form a two discrete state in distribution, employment, living, social psychological status and cultural customs. This state has also brought some challenges to the governance of rural areas. In this research, in order to analyze this phenomenon, we will study on Nan Village, take the village community as a carrier, take migrant peasants’life and production in macroµ backgrounds and as a clue, use’symbolic boundary’as a core concept. Besides, the production and reproduction of the’boundary’between the local and nonlocal people will be used to analyze the relationship between them and its order basis. We found that in the process of their contacts, what they have established is a narrative and social classification of T and ’he’, the relationship between the two does not explicit as the contradiction and the conflict. In opposite, it will show a rational and harmonious style. In these stages, there are effects initiated from social and psychological factors, pressures from economic levels, thrust from cultural backgrounds, but is more institutional and policy oriented results. However, the spatial equilibrium state constructs from the action of the elements of construction is not the ideal state. At the end of the paper, we will discuss several possible order optimizations, trying to provide an effective way for conflict resolution in such’ Binary Community’.
