At present with the rapid development of China’s economy, our country is becoming stronger and stronger and international cooperations are becoming more and more. As a universal language, English is playing a very important role. High school English education is very important for teenagers to master this language well. Hence, scholars keep up exploring suitable study methods for high school students. However, in rural high schools there are lots of limitations. Their students are worse in English than those from city high schools. It is urgent to change the situation of rural high school English education. Effective classroom interaction is important for improving students’ interest in English and controlling teaching effects.In order to know about classroom interaction in rural high schools, its contributing factors and some feasible solutions, a two-month investigation was carried out in Xishui No.1middle school. The students and English teachers in Grade One were participants. Through classroom observations and interviews, it is known that there are some classroom interactions. Its main contributing factors are teachers, students and the environment. And teachers may improve their techniques of asking questions, enrich classroom activities and give more positive feedbacks to better classroom interaction.
